Cleaning your Isolation Hub

With the current situation, it’s more important than ever to ensure that we are all working in CLEAN and PRODUCTIVE workspaces. Whilst you may be confined to your house at this present moment, try not to stress as it isn’t permanent and together, we will overcome this. So, no matter your situation here are a couple of tips and tricks to maximise the cleanliness and productivity of any space you’re working in.

1. The BIG tidy

It’s time to crack out the cleaning gloves and sprays because you’ve got a big tidy coming for you. With the current situation, it is more important than ever to ensure you’re not only working in a tidy space but a clean and sanitised space. As #BossWomenandMen we want this time to be as productive as possible (entrepreneur’s where you at?) and with a clean workspace, comes a clean mind. This will enable you to maximise not only your workspace, but it will also bring you some clarity in these stressful times, making your space a more inviting one to work in.

2. S e p a r a t e your spaces

To maximise productivity, it is important to seperate your spaces. Spending so much time indoors can really affect your motivation levels, leaving you with a sense of un-
accomplishment. In your space, it is important to disconnect your workspace from your sleep/leisure space. If you can try and work from a desk, dining room table or a breakfast bar? Anything that gets you up and out of your bed. If you don’t have a lot of room and working from your bed is your only option, then try rearranging the way you work from your bed. For instance, lay or sit opposite from the way you usually would when you're asleep. That way you are still separating your work and leisure space.

3. Sunlight

If a window is available to you centre your workspace around a window/natural light. Sunlight gives our bodies Vitamin D which is an essential vitamin for our natural growth and development, as well as helping to boost our immune systems. Sunlight also enables us to feel connected with the outside world, as most if not all of us are currently self-isolating it is important for our mental health that we do not feel physically trapped in our spaces. Sunlight can provide that sense of normalcy, helping individual’s feel closer to nature, which can make a world of difference to an individual’s stress levels. P.s Natural sunlight gives great lighting for your WebEx/ Zoom conference calls.

Time to get creative with your space! First, as always make sure you’re working in a a clean environment so gives it a good tidy/wipe down if you haven’t already. Second place a few of your favourite pieces of artwork/photos on or around your workspace, make it feel homely. Third, STATIONERY! No workspace is complete without some drool-worthy stationery. Whether you’re into the colour or monochromatic aesthetic, the possibilities are endless for notetaking and colour coordinating pens, notebooks and notepads!

I hope you enjoyed these few tips to help you get started on creating a space that will love working in every day.

Stay safe and stay sanitised!
